Taste Notes
Warm spice, Sweet orange, floral and stone fruit
This coffee is sourced from the highlands of San Juan, Pona, Goña, and Miraflores, where over 400 smallholder farmers carefully cultivate their land using sustainable practices. Grown at high altitude, the cherries develop slowly, creating dense beans with layered complexity. In the cup, it reveals sweet orange and floral notes, balanced by warm spice and stone fruit. A velvety mouthfeel carries through to a rich finish of vanilla, malt, and toffee, delivering a clean and expressive brew.
Brewing Tips
Washed high altitude coffees are known for their clarity and structure, allowing delicate flavours to shine when brewed correctly. With a few simple adjustments, you can highlight the balance of fruit, sweetness, and body in this coffee.
Water Temperature
Use water between 92°C and 94°C. This helps extract the warm spice and toffee sweetness while keeping the acidity smooth and controlled.
Brew Ratio
Start with a 1:16 ratio. For example, 15g of coffee to 240g of water. This ratio allows the floral and stone fruit notes to come through with clarity.
Grind Size
Aim for a medium fine grind, similar to sea salt. This will support a steady drawdown and balanced extraction.
Bloom
Allow a 30 second bloom using twice the weight of the coffee in water. This helps release trapped gases and promotes even extraction.
These adjustments will help you bring out the coffee’s natural sweetness, clarity, and smooth finish.

Peru Café de Montaña Filter Coffee
A High Altitude Washed Caturra
Origin and Community
This Peru Café de Montaña filter coffee comes from the highlands of San Juan, Pona, Goña, and Miraflores. These regions are known for producing high quality Peru coffee due to their altitude and fertile soil.
More than 400 smallholder farmers contribute to this lot. They care for their land using sustainable farming methods. As a result, the coffee reflects both quality and responsibility.
A Washed Coffee with Clarity
This Peru Café de Montaña filter coffee uses a washed process. Only ripe cherries are selected before fermentation and washing. The beans are then dried with care.
Because of this process, the cup is clean and well structured. It also allows the natural character of the coffee to stand out.
Flavour Profile
This coffee offers a balanced and layered profile.
You will notice sweet orange and floral notes first. Then, warm spice and soft stone fruit develop in the cup.
Finally, a smooth finish of vanilla, malt, and toffee brings everything together.
High Altitude Advantage
This Peru Café de Montaña filter coffee is grown between 1500 and 1800 metres above sea level. At this altitude, the cherries ripen more slowly.
As a result, the beans become dense and rich in sugars. This leads to better extraction, improved sweetness, and more clarity in the cup.
In the Cup
Clean, bright, and expressive.
This Peru Café de Montaña filter coffee highlights sweet citrus, soft florals, and a smooth, comforting finish.
